Greetings Kevin Pritchett here
MLM Frequently Asked Question 6:
"How Do I Train The People Who Join Me...If I'm A Beginner Myself?"
An excellent question and one I get all the time.
The whole idea behind network marketing/mlm is to build a team from which you earn residual income...you know...the kind of money you make while you sleep!!!
In order to do that here's what needs to happen
- your business must be SYSTEMATIZED. In other words you must
have SYSTEMS in place rather than you doing everything from scratch
each time. With systems, you just plug your prospect into the system
that shows them what to do and they in turn use this same system for THEIR prospects.
- your business and training must be DUPLICATEABLE. It doesn't
really help you if you're a "rock star" and can't communicate what
needs to be done to someone who may not be as adroit as you.
Every step in your training and business must be like following a
step by step recipe so that ANYBODY can do it ...as long as they
follow the steps. Also, you don't want to have to hold every single
person's hand 24 hours a day...trust me...THAT GETS REAL OLD...
WILL BURN YOU OUT...and is NOT DUPLICATEABLE!!
-you must have AUTOMATED TRAINING PROGRAMS in place to train new prospects who don't have critical basic skills e.g. putting up web pages, generating leads, autoresponders, social media marketing, video marketing, PPC etc. The biggest stumbling block for most people is the technical curve they must get over. Ideally you want these training systems to be automated so you don't have to trade your time training every single person in these remedial skills. All my remedial training programs are on video so that my prospects can learn at their own pace. They contact me when or if they have a specific question. Many of the common questions I've already answered within each of my training programs. Bottom line...you MUST have automated training programs in place to teach these critical remedial skills.
-you must offer PERSONAL MENTORING at the beginning and throughout. Now I may seem like I'm contradicting myself (above I told you not to hold someone's hand 24/7) but I'm not. At the beginning you must offer a personal 1 on 1 consultation to evaluate your prospect's skills, interest level and commitment. Then when they join, you must provide live weekly training- I have 4 live trainings every week. This provides the "personal connection" beginners need and it also positions me as "the leader"
-you must offer LIVE GROUP EVENTS where your fledgling recruit can join
in with other similarly situated people and more experienced people and
learn and grow and network with each other. I've found that these live
events are the things that catapult my team members to significant earning jumps
Then when your folks get the hang of it by plugging into your remedial training programs, personal coaching sessions, weekly ongoing live trainings and your quarterly (or so) live events....they gradually get "with the program" and are off on their own. Then they in turn plug THEIR prospects into this same infrastructure and so it goes.....
Bottom line my friends...if you're a beginner you want to join an experienced and proven team that offers you all the above critical training and mentoring components so that you don't have to do it all yourself.
